Being able to actively edit curve presets whenever they're used (or rather, not having an option NOT to do this) has caused me to destroy my curve presets more times than I'm willing to admit. Could we possibly get an option to disallow this somewhere in the settings (and instead some type of save feature? I'm happy to work around without this though, simply by using the + and - when I need something saved/deleted)?

In this same vein, I am still unclear as to how new keys' curves are decided. It seems random at times (sometimes seems like it's using the last used curve, while at other times it seems to just create a curve at random, albeit I'm sure with some intent). A way to manually change and/or lock new keys to a specific curve (or linear + clamp) would also be an incredibly helpful addition.

Cheers! Keep up the great work Esoteric team :D

The Graph presets panel completely goes away in the next version, where the Graph becomes a full curve editor.

When setting a new key, the curve type is set to the curve type of the key before, if any. If there is no key before, the type of curve for the Default graph preset is used. If the key before is a curve, curve splitting is done. It's hard to see in the old Graph, but easy in the new one. Eg, if you have this curve (where the X axis is time and the Y axis is the rotation value):

This is what happens if you set a new key on frame 22 (by clicking the key rotation button):

The new key is added and the surrounding handles are adjusted so the curve stays the same. This happens even with the old graph, it's just hard to see when the X axis is the percentage of change between the keys.

Thanks Nate, the auto set curve type makes more sense now. When just looking at them all selected in the current editor it just looks like a bunch of random stuff, but ya this makes sense.

For the new update will there also be an option to view the Dopesheet the way it is currently viewed? If not could we possibly get a toggle for that so that there is a simpler key layout method if we ever need it? Cheers!

The dopesheet will remain as is. The graph will be supplemental, as both are useful in various situations. They are separate views, so both can be seen and used at the same time.
