Hi,

Where can I find the latest version of Spine runtimes for cocos2d, for both v2 and v3?

The last time I checked I think there two subdirectories spine-runtimes/spine-cocos2d-iphone/2/ and spine-runtimes/spine-cocos2d-iphone/3/ but now I can only find the spine-runtimes/spine-cocos2d-objc repo.

We've deprecated support for cocos2d-x v2 and cocos2d-iphone v2 in July 2016 (see Blog: Spine 3.4 released - Shearing, Paths, and much more!: Runtimes). You can find the old (unsupported) runtimes here

Hi, thank you for the response.

Referring to cocos2d objective-c, I have some questions regarding spine:
  • Are v2 and v3 very different? In the link you gave, inside the spine-cocos2d-iphone/ directory there are two subdirectories, 2/ and 3/, which I suppose are for cocos2d v2 and v3 respectively.

  • The current spine-runtimes/spine-cocos2d-objc repo, branch 3.6 is for cocos2d v3? How hard would it be for me to make it also work for v2?

Yes Spine 2.x and Spine 3.x are extremely different.

Yes, v2 and v3 in spine-cocos2d-iphone refer to cocos2d v2 and v3 respectively.

The current Spine 3.6 branch is for cocos2d v3. Backporting the non-rendering parts should be trivial. However, the rendering part has been completely rewritten, relying on some stuff only available in cocos2d v3. Plus we had to add our own low-level OpenGL ES rendering code to support tint black. I'm not sure if cocos2d v2 supports that.

Hi there,
These two branches no longer appear to be available:

cocos2d-x v2 https://github.com/esotericsoftware/spine-runtimes/tree/cocos2dx-v2
cocos2d-iphone v2 https://github.com/esotericsoftware/spine-runtimes/tree/cocos2d-ios-v2

Is it possible to get access to them somehow? I have an older project I am working on that relies on these runtimes.

I found a cocos2d-x v2 runtime here:
https://github.com/EsotericSoftware/spine-runtimes/tree/3.1.07/spine-cocos2dx/2

The corresponding Spine editor version is 3.1.08, but please note this is very old, more than 5 years ago.
