I am struggling with this for almost 2h. Did several reinstalled, cleaned registries, tried all I could find online. It only needed one quick search here 🙂
I even tried to copy 3.8.99 file from a coleague and put in inside users/spine/updates folder.
When tried to open it I got the same error and the 3.8.99 file actualy got deleted. Not even putting a readonly on it helped.
In my case this wasnt the first use of this version. I used 3.8 few days ago. And other people in studio can use 3.8 with no issues.
I am using win11, and my other pc is on windows 10 so I tried there. Installed spine, activated it, got an error. I did the same thing with copping 3.8.99 file. It did not got deleted but still would not open it.
Not sure if this particular info can be of any use.
I hope this will be resolved soon.
