Because events are always placed at the bottom and is always out of sight...
I sometimes getting unexpected event keys when duplicating a pose from a time frame to another without realizing an event key is also get copied which cause unexpected behavior in game. This little indicator will help keep track of event keys, knowing where and how many they are across the timeline.

Alternatively, changing event key to be placed on the first row instead of the last will work for me too 8)

Thanks

Hello Nick! Perhaps it can be useful to filter the Dopesheet on events in your case: Dopesheet - Spine User Guide: Filter

As you can read here: Dopesheet - Spine User Guide: Other rows
When a timeline is not associated with a bone, it will be displayed at the bottom as default, but you can rearrange this order by clicking on the name (which will be Events in your case) so that it stays at the top instead: Dopesheet - Spine User Guide: Order
Doing this will leave the events on top of the row until you select some other bone that will be placed at the beginning of the dopesheet again, unless you decide to lock the dopesheet: Dopesheet - Spine User Guide: Contents

Event keys are violet in the top row when they're the only kind of key present on a frame, but the key of the first row will turn white as soon as two kinds are mixed just like with any other kind of keyframe. Instead, scrubbing the animation will display the event name in the viewport if it is keyed, allowing you to quickly check for events.

I hope this can help! 😃

The filter could not help in my situation because I cannot do a filter every time I copy and paste a set of key.

I tried dragged the event row to the top but once I select something else and then press space to deselect everything, the event row return back to bottom.

If you're trying to not accidentally copy event keys, you could maybe just filter them out so they are not shown in the Dopesheet. Doing it this way, you won't have to lock the Dopesheet to prevent it from updating. Keep in mind you can right click the Filter button to toggle it on/off.

Oh I understand now.
I misunderstood what Erikari say about filter the Dopesheet on events.

Thank you both~
