Issues scaling/hiding parent bone, maybe a bug?
Hello!
I wan't to hide a bone with many children in the Setup, because it's only being used in one out of several animations.
I could go and hide each slot, but it would take a lot of time, since it has a lot of slots and bones.
So I tried scaling it to 0 in the setup, and in my animation where I need it, I'd scale it back to 1 on the first frame. But it seems locked? Also the UI scale pivot looks weirdly cut off when I do it.
Anyone has any solution to this?

Spine Tips: hide tree
It takes way less time!
Regarding the problem you are experiencing with bone scale, Much depends on your skeleton structure. Perhaps a screenshot or video may help us understand what "it seems locked" actually is caused by.
Hi Erika
Thank you for your response.
I need to hide the bone and all it's children in the animation. So I need a keyframe that hides the whole tree of a bone.
Select all the attachments (not the slots) you want to hide, then press H during the animation to key them hiding.
If you only want to temporarily hide them, right click the parent bone instead.
but then I would still have to go and select every attachment manually.
Like I wrote it's a large tree, so it would take a lot of time to hide each attachment individually. (I wrote slot, but I meant attachment/image)
even if i click the top bone, like in your gif, it doesn't hide the graphics like it does in your gif :/
(sorry about my account confusions, i mistakenly had two accounts, the other one is deleted now )
My suggestion is to filter the tree on attachments and then select many attachments at the same time using Shift or Control. You can also use the tree filter to only select some attachments if you used smart naming for the parts.
Actually I can offer another solution It involves setting shortcuts first.
Set a shortcut for each of these -
Select Descendent Bones:
Select Visible Attachments:
Select Attachments:
Previous Selection:
Save your shortcuts and restart Spine.
With this, you can select the top bone of whatever tree you want to hide/reveal - hit Descendent Bones shortcut to select all children in the tree - then Visible Attachments to select all visible attachments in that selection. Now you can press H and hide them all.
You will notice there's a bit of an issue making them reappear in the same manner if slots house multiple attachments. You can use the same method and use 'Select Attachments' (instead of Visible Att) to toggle ALL attachments in a bone but there's no guarantee that you'll have the same ones you wanted become visible due to slots so you can use Previous Selection shortcut to select the attachments you hid previously.
