I was wondering if this idea has floated around before. I have been working on character rigs at a straight, front pose and I wanted to make my job faster by mirroring the vertices on the left to the right.

The idea of symmetry tools would also be nice on the bone creation process as well.

Oof. Nearly 4 years ago. Well, I hope this feature won't be difficult to implement. This would be a major time-saver and make our meshes more consistent and easy to manage.

Is team considering letting us define the Axis freely, like any angle and position? I also imagine that it's best if the mesh top and bottom vertices and in-between line are established. I'm a little concerned about duplicate vertices in the middle. And the mirror axis data should be preserved (and removable) to let us edit the meshes later on.

"I hope this feature won't be difficult to implement" ... goes on to describe the complex ways the feature should work! :haha:

We have a long list of things that would be amazing to have in Spine. We regularly do big features, but we also try to pick the features that are easiest to do but still have a big impact, because that way we can get more useful features to you. Sometimes we have to cut down a feature to its simplest form so we can get it in, but we can add to it later.

This feature may make it into 4.1, where we are focusing on such quality of life type of improvements, but it's still early and I can't be sure yet.
