  • Spine rescales images

Hello

I am doing an animation with some skins. When I put images into a new skin, Spine rescales them, they have another size than oryginal and dont fit as well as on the image in the GIMP. I thought it is problem with scale, but when I checked it, they all have scale 1 and still dont fit.
I attach images to the skins not bones.

My working version is 3.4.02

What can be cause of this issue ?

Sorry, but I don't understand the problem. What does it mean that Spine rescales your images? What actions are you taking, what do you expect, and what do you see instead?

Let me specify:

  1. Open file with images
  2. Set character background image
  3. Build Skeleton in the Spine based on background img
  4. Make skins
  5. Pin on images to the skins

And my problem: Some images after pin on to skin, change their size. In the graphic program they fit perfectly at the pixel and in the Spine is huge difference.
Most of images fit well but some change their size and they dont fit as in the graphic program.

I have similar problem when I was trying pin on image at bone which was changed scale to the 1.2 or 1.321 but in title case, scale on bones is 1.0.

OK, thanks. I think we'll need to see your project to be able to figure out what is happening. Can you post or email the .spine file and images? contact@esotericsoftware.com

Sorry but cant share project yet. When I create new project and did whole work on skins again, problem dissapeard.
But there is still question, what when it will back and that wont be so easy to make new project again ?

I'm afraid I can't say, since I don't know what the problem is.

This problem is rather serious because I cant use skins properly.

When I import to Spine image in JSON, everything fit perfect, but when (on another project) I pin elements of the SAME image, to skins and then build whole image I see that some elements dont fit like on JSON. They are rescaled in width and length but when I check scale image, the value is 1.0 for ALL parts.
I loaded 1 picture of the whole character as a background on the one bone and was trying to check which elements are rescaled by pinning them to skins which are set up for whole skeleton.
I slashed body for several parts and a few of them rescales while other dont. For example body and forearm are smaller than orginal after pin to the skin and I have to set them scale to fit to the whole picture. What is important, those elements rescales differently, to set up body I had to scale it from 1.0 to 1.07 and forearm from 1.0 to 1.23. After this manual scalling they fit to the whole character.

In the another project with skins, this problem doesnt exist. But what is important, first project I did also dont have this problem, it started after time so I created new project with same skins. I though that problem is resolved but happened again in the project. I am not going to wait till it happens in all my projects that why need your help and support to find BUG or my oversight.

It really doesnt help me when you say something like: "Sorry we cant help u, you have problem". Something like this shouldnt have place even in the free application, and here is PRO without support ?

EDIT: I found way to repain problem but still dont know reason why it happens.
Problem was that bone had scale for example 0.83 but show 1.0. Other bones had other hidden values but show scale as 1.0. When I created new project, imported there JSON of this image and then imported skeleton from bugged project by "Import project option", after click on bones, appeared true descaled values. After this and open original project with those bones, there also could see descaled bones which before were showing me scale 1.0.

We are trying to help. Unfortunately your description of the problem has been vague, like "Spine rescales my images", and that is simply not explanatory enough for us to understand what the problem you are encountering actually is. If we don't understand what the problem is, we can't possibly provide assistance.

It doesn't help that you use terminology such as "pin elements of the same image and then build whole image". That is not terminology used in Spine, so it doesn't mean anything to us and we don't know what you are trying to say. We understand there is a language barrier for many users and we are happy to have patience during communication. If your descriptions are not enough to communicate your problem, please try describing in a different way, or provide pictures or video which show your problem.

The best way to get help is to provide us with a way to reproduce the problem ourselves. If there is a bug that we need to fix, we MUST reproduce the problem in order to fix it and test that the fix works correctly. If we have to try to recreate your problem from your descriptions, we are unlikely to encounter your exact problem. It is much more efficient for you to provide us any files needed and step by step instructions to see the problem. Please also provide what you expected to happen and what actually happened.

If I understand correctly, you are exporting from PSD to JSON, then importing the JSON and your images don't appear correctly in Spine. Is that right? Can you please provide a PSD file which when exported to JSON and imported into Spine doesn't work correctly? You can attach it here on the forum or email us at: contact@esotericsoftware.com

I'm not sure why scale would show 1 when it was less than 1. Can you post or email a .spine file that shows the problem?
