Splitting Forums?
Hey-o Esoteric,
You have done awesome work and it's clear it's being picked up by the community. I was wondering, if for sheer search results sake, you might not want to start dividing up the forums into "Application" and "Coding" sections so people know clearly where to post and where to read.
At some point, it may make sense to divide coding up by platform but, right now, most of the stuff is translatable and doesn't need to be separated. But I know I'm interested in the coding side and a lot of app specific stuff comes up when I search. So... maybe differentiating between the two would make these forums even more useful?
Loving the work that's been done and the reach outs to the various communities. Spine is awesome and it's been sooooo easy to drop into my project. We have two licenses. Just trying to throw a suggestion out there that might help lower your workload.
I think Nate should do a poll on which runtimes need their own forum, probably will end up looking like:
Cocos
Unity
Generic C++
Generic C#
Other
I guess? Especially as now there's probably going to be a fair few runtimes tweaks that users submit.
I think the Runtimes should stick to a single forum. If it was not for someones generic code, I would not have been able to figure out some of the code for Unity/TK2D. Tweaks in one runtime might be useful in another with nominal changes.
But I agree that the forums do need to be split up. General, Off-topic, Support, Coding, to name some of the top splits you see in other forums. Off-topic is good for the community to just get to know-eachother and keep them coming back in.
I'm doing some rearranging tonight to make it a little easier. Can't say exactly how it will be yet, just need a little sorting so Nate will have an easier time picking up on it when he gets back
