  • Mario I was able to package a build successfully. These errors don't really effect the game. Turns out I needed to delete my saved folder inside my ue5 project in order to build.

  • Trying to export a build in UE5.3 but fails with an unknown error. As I scroll up the output log the only errors I have are these. Not sure what the fix can be.

  • For those still having trouble installing the runtime to UE5.3 this video has clear step by step instructions. From the instruction video provided by Esoteric I was having problem understanding where to paste the cpp folder for windows. Instructions there are not clear. Hope this helps.

  • Hey,

Reaching out to see if you might be interested in work. Is there a reel of spine animation I can see?

    Thanks.

This product is a Unity dev kit which will allow you to make your own game in a few days by swapping the current art and animation for your own. The kit will have full working code for you to just drag and drop your spine animations into the kit and see your animations in game. All the resources you see in the video above will be included in the Unity package plus a lot more.

The Zombie Rush demo comes ready to play in the Unity file. Just hit play and test the demo for yourself inside Unity. You'll get the Unity file, Spine files, videos explaining a few of the features included, and full resource folder containing all the art in HD.

New pyro character skin will be added to the Spine/Unity Starter Kit a month after it goes live. We are going to try and update it at least once a month. All updates will be FREE!

This pyro character here will be available in the game kit as you play through the level you will need to collect a small flame icon in order to play as the pyro. You'll have access to the full working code so you'll be able to swap to your own pyro character.

  • lol. Yup, they are definitely copyrighted. For this demo we just wanted to use familiar characters to show how easy it is to swap art and animation using the starter kit. These characters here are based off the 1989 cartoon. They will not be included in the kit. But they will surely be fun to play test.

  • Yeah, you guys actually got back to us a while back. All is good. Thanks.

In the video above there wasn't a hit animation for the enemies yet. However, in the final demo we did include a hit with blood splatter for the zombies. Came out looking very nice. We also took advantage of the skeleton lit and added some lighting to fit the environment better. Works really nice. We got a few more demo's in the works which we'll be releasing for free. Will start showcasing some of those soon.

    Thanks for the tweet.

    Cheers.

Character line up for the next demo using the Spine/Unity Game Starter Kit. We were debating whether to use thicker outline for the design style. The princess on the right has a much bolder outline which we were going to keep but clearly the princess on the left has a much more of a cel animation feel so we decided to go with that instead. Looks much more appealing.

We are currently rigging the characters in Spine getting them ready for animation. All four characters will have an idle, run, and jump. We might also include a multiplayer option to go along with this demo.

Will showcase the animations when done.

  • Hey everyone,

Just wanted to show off what we've been working on as a side project. We put together a kit in unity using spine animations with ready made code. For those of you who are currently or thinking about creating a platformer, hack and slash, or a beat 'em up style game then this is for you. The kit has everything you need to create a full game without writing a single line of code. Simply drag and drop and your ready to play within seconds. We've made it simple to swap players, enemies, backgrounds, sound and music, as well as customizing your own menu. You can now complete a full game within days ready to publish.

Here's just a few features that will be included:

    1. Simple drag and drop to swap assets and animations.
    2. Full player and enemy ai control.
    3. Spine json files already set up in unity for easy animation updates.
    4. Level customization using unity 3D platforms.
    5. Playable with an xbox controller.
    6. Simple audio and fx swap with volume control.
      And more.

    Spawn a few enemies.

    Or spawn a lot.

  • We are remastering an old classic nes video game and we're documenting the process from start to finish. Get to see concept art, sketches, rough and final animations, and play test a very early prototype. To start we'll be creating a demo of the bridge level. The demo is considered fan art. All animations will be done in Spine.

A quick prototype has already been created in Unity and it'll be available to try. We'll be using this as a starting point to swap out rough animations to final art.
