I want my characters to be able to crouch - and the question is should I make a not-looped crouch animation in which they change from standing position to crouched one? Or maybe a small looped animation where the character is already crouched and the changing between standing pose and crouching pose will be calculated by Spine?

Personally I like to do "in-betweens" to blend between two different looping animations. You might not need this for everything though.
You don't know how long people will stay crouched for, so if you want your character to move while being crouched, you'll need a looping animation of that part.

Using Spine to "calculate" the crouching pose, might be hard and probably not doable for all characters, but its worth trying it out I guess. I assume you're thinking about procedural animation here.

OK. Is there a way to to stack animations or check if one animations is finished before starting another one?
Or maybe I could use loop start/end that can be setup in the editor - it doesn't seem to export though...

By the way: exporting while in animation mode breaks the animations (in 1.04) - just like saving in that mode broke projects in earlier versions.

To see if an animation is done in the libgdx runtime, check if the time you will pass in is > than animation.getDuration(). TO do looping, pass true to the animation.

I don't see exporting breaking when done from setup mode. Can you give exact reproduction steps that show the problem after opening one of the example projects?

The problem was when I exported the animation while being in ANIMATION mode, not in the setup mode. :) But it was with one of those projects, you converted for me, maybe they have some issues.

You were right, I managed to reproduce this. It is fixed in 1.0.6.
